Glad to hear that the timing was the problem, once you get the parts just take it slow putting it back together. Once you set the timing turn the engine clockwise (when looking from the front of the vehicle) at least 2 full revolutions (I recommend 4) and then recheck the timing. This will make sure if there was any slack it will show up now, instead of once you have it all back together.
